Grace, that is free, is not cheap.
The grace of God cost heaven its finest jewel, the Son of God!
Christianity is not some cheap escape from the way things are. The death of Jesus is His final and total commitment to us.
“And I, if I am lifted from the earth, will draw all men unto me. This he said, signifying what death he should die” (Jn. 12:32,33).
“No man can come to me, except the Father which hath sent me draw him: and I will raise him up at the last day” (Jn. 6:44).
Christianity is free yet it is costly. “…If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me” (Mt. 16:24).
“I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless, I live; yet not I, but Christ lives in me…I do not frustrate the grace of God” (Gal. 2:20,21).
Grace is not merely a gift of principle; it is a gift of obligation.
It would be a disgrace not to accept grace. How dare any man reject the cross of Christ. Grace delivers agonizing responsibilities, duties, and obligations.
Paul said, “For though I preach the gospel I have nothing to glory of for necessity is laid upon me; yea, woe is unto me, if I preach not the gospel!” (1 Cor.9:16).
We were chosen by grace to choose grace. Someone said, “Grace drives me to God to keep me from forgetting what I owe him.” Salvation is rooted in the grace of God.
